It Emerges
A downloadable soundtrack
This is a submission for "Weekly Note Composing Jam #2" wherein participants are invited to work on a song given the prompt "moments before disaster".
When I saw the prompt, my mind immediately went to a scene from "Splashdown" (the first book in a sci-fi series I've been enjoying) in which thousands of people have gathered around to bear witness to some mysterious giant snail creatures with beautiful shells as they emerge from the ocean. The spectators look upon with awe as the shells open... and then the running and screaming begins.
With that scene in mind, I wanted to create a song that opens up majestic and playful, but then builds some tension to suggest something is not quite right as the orchestral melody is supplanted by the synth, and the final section ends with a fast-paced synth section because it's running and screaming time.
DAW: FL Studio
VSTs: EastWest Hollywood Orchestral Woodwinds (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet), Hollywood Orchestral Brass(French Horn, Trombones, Low Brass), In Session Audio Drumatic Creator, Steven Slate Drums 5.5, Arturia Pigments (various synth sounds), and Korg M1 (tubular bells and fathom sfx).
Plugins: Waves Magma Tubes Stereo, Waves Magma Channel Strip, Vocodex, Maximus, Fruity Balance, and Compressor.
